We had a long layover in NYC on the way to Porto. We rented a car and drove around NYC to see the skyline, downtown Manhattan, Staten Island Ferry. On the way back from UAE, we had a long layover in Amsterdam. We bought one day metro train ticket and rode to downtown to see several attractions there. It was raining while we were there.
