We started in Playa del Carmen, hoping to check out one or two of the nearby natural water/theme parks. We'd had a look at some in advance that had awesome activities surrounded by natural beauty. However, on the first night we ate at a great vegan burger restaurant called Comet 984, where we discovered that these parks (Xcaret, Xplor, Xenses etc.) keep dolphins in captivity. So that was the end of that.
