Welcome on board! 🏴‍☠️ This message is for everyone who has made it here and for this beautiful piece of engineering below. But let's start at the beginning. The title already gives a decent hint about what's going to happen, but every statement has a story. Once upon a time, the car was a small BB9. I'm not sure if this model is the same worldwide, but in the European market, it was the smallest tier, equipped with an F20A4 engine. It was a base model, nothing special, but in good condition. I bought it with 40,000 km on the clock, and it was a garage queen. Over the years, until 2017, it underwent major changes: H22A → H22A with JRSC, Big Brake Kit, and many more modifications. Eventually, the engine with the JRSC blew up due to an ECU malfunction. The cause was a poorly soldered Hondata S300, which led to an ECU dropout at 6000 RPM under full load, causing a piston jam at cylinder #2. While looking at the car with the dead engine, I thought, "Let's go all out and do something special." In 2017, a K-Series engine in a Prelude was not common, and in Germany, I would be the first with TÜV approval. The goal was to achieve this while retaining the OEM look and feel, modernizing the electronics, and making some quality-of-life improvements.
Initial Research & Parts Gathering 📦🔍 2018 was the year when many parts were bought. I tried to do as much due diligence as possible. Information was available, but finding suitable information for a 5th gen was rare. For the electronics department, I chose a Haltech Elite 1500, WB1, and a Rywire Mil-Spec wiring harness, which will be adapted to the Haltech ECU. Some plugs will be repinned, added, or exchanged along the way.
