Hi Friends, Here is a sample of the wildlife I saw this May (2023) while boating on the Otter Creek in Vergennes, VT. These pictures were taken over multiple days, but give a taste of what you may expect to see if you were to visit on a day in the month of May. My time was split each day between fishing and photographing, so I'm thinking the photography time added up to about 12 hours or so. It's a great time to be on the Creek with a camera! Of course there were many birds that I didn't capture and many more that I could hear and not get a good enough view for a decent photo. A big thanks to the Cornell Labs folks for their Merlin App; the sound ID got quite a workout at this site. Another big thanks to my fishing/boating partners for their patience while I paused the boat time and again for photo opportunities. I guess my thought is to have these pictures out there so someone could step through the photos one-by-one full screen and have fun trying to identifying all of them. You're seeing the wildlife as you would if you were boating on the Creek, with binoculars or camera in hand. If it inspires some people to visit this area to birdwatch or photograph that would be awesome. To start, read all the instructions first before clicking: Click on the first picture below with the chickadee on the tree trunk. When the photo goes to full screen use the arrow on the right of the photo to move to the next. The arrow on the left of the photo will let you go back. You can also use the right/left arrows on your keyboard as well. ID each bird if you can. Some birds have more than one photo, although I moved most of the duplicates to the "vanity photos" section. These are there because I hoped you'd take a few extra minutes to look over some of photos that have been cropped and edited. You will know you are there when you see the noisy ducks and the text legends no longer appear for you. There is also one photo in here that isn't an animal at all but it looked convincing enough for me to take a picture of it. Care to guess which 3 animals that were 'lifers' for me (Things I'd never photographed before)? Enjoy! - Bruce [steventonphoto@gmail.com] website at: https://steventonphoto.myportfolio.com
