Materials: - Craft foam sheets (kids aisle @ hobby store) - Styrofoam - Mod Podge - Assorted beads, tiny - Spray primer - Stone texture spray paint - Gold metallic spray paint - Acrylic paints - Black thread - Realistic water resin (for model building) - Tacky glue - Clump foliage (for model building) - Salvaged frame
Step 1: Topography Trace topographical lines from official map. Transfer onto foam using grid tracing. Number the elevation layers. Note: there are a few places where the elevation is easy to misjudge. Taking the time to double check elevations avoids frustration later on. - The low-lying area surrounding Yester Hill and containing the winery is a valley, not a plateau. - The Ivlis Basin (east of the mountain pass, Village of Barovia) is one layer of elevation lower than Vallaki / "sea level" west of the mountain pass. (I missed this one!) - I added transitions to ramp through severe elevation changes along paths and roads. This helped me create a gradual incline later on.
