We begin the day optimistically! As the waves didn't seem to be so rough, we felt confident that we would be able to go ashore. For those that aren't familiar with Port Stanley, there is always a 50/50 chance of getting ashore, as the island is not in a protected area and the waves can be brutal. In today's case, even thought the wave's were not so bad, we were not able to anchor in the most protected cove, as another ship had beat us there.
Long story short, we waited with our friends in the lounge - all of us in our finest World Cruise Regent vests. However, the announcement was not good - the waves were too high to safely take the tenders ashore. Bummer!
