During Day 2 of the 3-Day Alishan EcoTourism/Indigenous Tour, we stayed the night at the historic Alishan House. It is known as the prime resort for Alishan visitors. We were greeted by the managers, and were given a tour of the HISTORY of the complex, which started with the Japanese Colonial era and then the KMT era. Most of the Taiwanese Presidents and other leaders have stayed in the special secure area of the hotel. Our group watched the sunset through cloudy skies. We toured a room that they preserved with the original decor of the Japanese colonial era. There was a coffee shop that reproduced the style of the KMT era from 30 years ago. We enjoyed an abundant buffet dinner in the main cafeteria of the hotel, before getting a comfortable rest.
