Bruce, Gail, Carol, and Marty training for the Chilkoot Trail

In 2003 Happy Hiker Sallie Ross and family move to Houston Texas. Their farewell adventure, on their drive to Texas, will be HIKING the 34 mile Chilkoot Trail with other Happy Hikers. Sallie secures the reservations for the group. In July The Moving Van packs their belongings and departs. The Ross family loads their packs into their car for the drive to Skagway. Unfortunately, they cannot find their passports. Sallie was sure she put them in their Chilkoot backpacks but she cannot find them. Instead of heading north out of Anchorage toward the Canadian border, they head south to back pack the Resurrection Trail and use up their freeze dried food. 😩
