In the beginning, Pat Stair built this Chevrolet Monza road racer for John R. "Jack" Sandberg, owner of J.R.S. Racing / Metal Masters of Minneapolis, and their 1980 SCCA Trans Am effort. Initially, the JRS Racing Chevrolet Monza was only driven once by Carl Shafer of Wyoming, Illinois, who had little success. During the 1980 SCCA Trans Am race at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit in Tulsa, Shafer retired after 32 laps due to electrical problems. The next year, the Monza ended up in the hands of SCCA pro racer, Dick Kantrud of Minnesota. (All photos below in chronological order 1980-2018.)
