A 6 hour train delay in Portland made me change plans - instead of riding North from the bottom of Oregon, I rode up from Portland to Puyallup (near Tacoma) on the eastern side of the Cascades. 260 miles and about 20k feet of elevation over 4 days, mostly in the Gifford Pinchot forest near Mt.
