At a recent Greenville Golden Kiwanis (GGK), Paula Morgan, Founder/President of Twin Rotors Mission, a veteran’s assistance non-profit 501 C3 organization, was the guest speaker. She discussed the vision and mission which is focusing on offering alternative options for mental health challenges often experienced as a result of trauma from military service. As a veteran herself, she can relate to the difficulties in traditional therapies of which veterans shy away from. They are currently partnered with the Greenville Mental Health Clinic and Longhorn Arena to offer services in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. These services are free to any veteran, their family member, or active-duty soldiers of all branches of military. Twin Rotors Mission has recently begun offering Veteran Roundtables and is planning to expand into Creative Therapies. They received some funding support from the Hunt County Commissioners Court. Paula invited GGK members (open to the public) to attend a benefit: The Real Cost of Freedom: An American Tribute to Veterans and Their families on Saturday 22 October, at the Caddo Creek Event and Venue Music Hall, 3648 County Road 2132, Greenville, Texas. There will be music, BBQ dinner (must RSVP), a Vietnam Veteran Special Presentation Ceremony, along with some veteran speakers and meet and greet with photo opportunities with Purple Heart Recipient Jessica Lynch. They are seeking a few sponsors to help offset the expenses. If interested, contact the organization at twinrotorsmission@gmail.com or call 316-992-0625. All members of the Twin Rotors Organization are volunteers with no pay and every dollar contributed stays here in Hunt County. Above, Paula is shown receiving the coveted GGK Speaker’s Cup from GGK President Pat Penland.
