Documentation Center of Cambodia's Genocide Education program in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport conducts its 31st Classroom Forum for High school students in Phnom Penh. As of today, we have conducted 86% of all high schools in Phnom Penh. Up to July 2018 , DC-Cam plans to complete its classroom forum with all high schools in Phnom Penh. We plan conduct similar forum for high school students in the provinces at the end of this year.
• Why should students learn the Khmer Rouge history? • How does history give us insight into who we are and who we can be? • What are the most significant lessons students can learn about Democratic Kampuchea regime and about genocide? • How will this study of Khmer Rouge history build generational connections between students and their elders? • How will this study of Khmer Rouge impact the students’ sense of empathy and compassion?
