Shaki (or Sheki or Şəki) is a city of about 70,000 about 240 km northwest of Baku. It's historic center, including the Palace of the Shaki Khans, are on the UNESCO World Heritage list because of its unique architecture and its history as an important trading center along the Silk Road. I spent the night there, stopping at a few historic sites on the way, and at a few scenic locales on the way back to Baku.
