This was the "maiden voyage" of my "new" (2015) travel trailer. My first "Go To" location is always the Keweenaw. Preparations took longer than expected so I feared I would miss peak color. I prepared myself that it might require longer travel including 2 or 3 nights. Surprisingly, I made the 500 miles from northern Illinois with just one overnight stop in Eagle River, WI. Then I stayed 5 nights at the City of Houghton RV park. The services there are great. That's me right in front, closest to the sandy beach area. Just to say I could, I climbed to the top of the very tall slide and play area. Even thought the steps were at least a non-code compliant 18 inches, little 3 year old kids just zipped past me like I wasn't moving.
