One of our installations in 2018 was the colourful Ba Hoe Lounge - playful seating inspired by skating obstacles.
We were happy that these objects were on display several times at trade fairs, for photo shoots, interior stylings and as decoration during presentations/workshops.
Although we received a number of requests for this fun installation, we decided not to make them available any longer. Due to frequent use, the foam blocks (which were left over from a previous project to begin with) had become too damaged, ... but they were structurally still top-notch, extremely comfortable to sit on and suitable to create beautiful compositions, in short, too good to get rid of. So the idea was born to give our "Ba Hoe" foam blocks - literally - a new look and a second ... third life.
Raymakers - Royal Dutch Textile Mills from Helmond liked this idea and supported the project by letting us dive into their colourful production with over 50 velvet qualities, in natural or synthetic yarns. Together we decided to use a selection of their wide range of vibrant, soft velvet samples to create a new eye-catching installation. Those big "skateing inspired objects" will be presented during Dutch Design Week 2024 as part of the "Cloud Cuckoo Land" installation at the Pennings Foundation in Eindhoven.
