With nice weather and almost no snow in the Southern Sierra, and not wishing to pay for an overnight permit as self-issue permits for Inyo NF are not available this year (absolutely related to COVID-19 and definitely not to make more money off online reservations), I decided to head to Horseshoe Meadow for some day hikes.
I admit I've never found the region particularly interesting, but after this time I'm not entirely sure why. This was probably my favorite outing of the year and I found the area to be absolutely fantastic. The weather was wonderful, if slightly chilly on windy summits, I didn't see anyone else, and the views were great.
